I saw the coverage on NDTV 24×7 about the new trend in the preferences of work location. Until last year Indian students were excited moving to the US and European countries in search for greener pastures. This trend is reversing now.
Around 90 per cent of the graduates from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay are slated to be millionaires a year after passing out.
Salaries in 2008 have shot through the roof and now they are 44 per cent more than that in 2007. Several students have got jobs in sectors such as IT and finance and many have even chosen to give jobs in the US a pass.
NDTV 24×7’s coverage made me reconsider my plans of staying in US. If I shift back to India, I can get a better pay package and keep in touch with my loved ones. Until then I can keep in touch with India through NDTV 24×7. The incisive news channel is available in the US only through DirecTV.
There is only one drawback of DirecTV. The picture and sound quality is sort of hypnotic & addictive. It makes me want to watch more of TV and become a couch potato.
